How it all started...
Heritage Fellowship was birthed out a movement from Capstone Church in Fountain Inn, SC. Heritage launched in Clinton, SC in early 2014. Clinton is a small traditional southern town, much like Fountain Inn. Capstone felt led to help plant Heritage after they had several college students and families driving from Clinton to Capstone each week. Capstone felt like a modern, gospel voice was needed and therefore Clinton, SC was a perfect place to start their first plant. The gathering was initially very small and consisted of primarily college students and a couple of young couples from Capstone.
Finding a place to call home...
On February 2nd of 2014 Heritage Fellowship launched worship gatherings at the Clinton YMCA, packing their equipment in and out of a multi-purpose room each Sunday. Heritage eventually moved into a building to call our own in late 2015 at 305 W Main Street in Clinton. We did lots of renovations and gathered in that location for a couple of years before the property was purchased by another owner and converted into and event venue called The Cotton Loft.
As Heritage Fellowship continued to grow, we gathered in an old building on Florida Street in Clinton. We were grateful for the place God had provided, but it was never meant to be our permanent home.
We began praying and searching for what was next—whether that meant purchasing property, building something new, or finding an existing space that could become our own. More than simply needing a building, we wanted a place where our church family could grow, put down roots, and better serve the city God had called us to.
At the same time, God was already at work somewhere else in Clinton.

two churches. one story
Victory Worship had faithfully served the Clinton community for many years. As their church began considering its future, Pastor Bob and the Victory congregation were exploring the sale of their property.
What began as a conversation about a building became something much bigger.
Pastor Bob was showing Jeremy the property, and through multiple conversations between the two pastors and the elders of both churches, a different possibility began to emerge. Maybe God wasn't simply providing Heritage with a building. Maybe He was bringing two church families together.
After much prayer, conversation, and ultimately a vote by both congregations, Heritage Fellowship and Victory Worship made the decision to become one church family.
It became clear that the Lord had been working on both sides of the story long before either church could see what He was doing.

With two churches becoming one, we believed this new chapter deserved a name that reflected not simply where we had been, but who God was calling us to be.
We found that picture in John 4.
At a well in Samaria, Jesus intentionally met a woman whom others would have overlooked. She was outside the innermost Jewish circle, yet Jesus crossed the barriers of culture, history, and reputation to offer her something she could never find on her own: living water and eternal life.
That encounter changed her. She came to the well looking for water and left having encountered the Messiah. Then she went back to her city and invited others to encounter Him too.
That is the kind of church we want to be.
Church at The Well exists to carry that same invitation into our city and into the places where we live, work, and play. We want people from every background and every story to know that there is a place for them at the feet of Jesus.
Because when people Encounter Jesus, they Experience Life
